What to Expect from your

Coaching Experience

Pre-session Assessments

When you schedule your Meet & Greet session, you'll be asked to fill out a brief lifestyle assessment so we can be productive and focused right from day one. If we decide to work together, you'll have access to other forms as we go along to make sure we are always making the best use of our time. These pre-session assessment will let us focus on digging into specific issues and situations that trip you up and crafting a plan that will help you find more happiness in your life.


Our video sessions, coaching emails, messages, and assessment forms will all take place through secure and encrypted software so you never have to worry about your personal information being shared. 

Appointment Times that Fit your Schedule

The last thing we want to do is add more stress to your life. That's why we take advantage of the convenience of video sessions to schedule when it works for you. With early morning or after-dinner options throughout the week, the "I don't have time" excuse files out the window.

Between-session Assignments

After each session, I'll send you an email summarizing the main points of our meeting. Depending on the goals you're working on, there will be "homework assignments" to help you stay motivated and progressing. Change happens with gradual and continued adjustments over time so we will carefully modify different aspects of your daily routine to support your goals. Some assignment examples are daily journaling, replacing an unhealthy snack with a health-promoting behavior, or regular check-ins with yourself to monitor stress levels.


Just as athletes practice their sport daily in order to get stronger and faster, you'll need to practice new ways of thinking and doing things in order to live the life you want. Between-session assignments and lifestyle modifications are unique to each client and will be thoughtfully designed collaboratively to best support the changes you are looking to make in your life. 

Accountability to the Max

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have someone who believes in you, who cares if you follow through, who will check in on you, and who will call you out when you're slacking off. 

What have you been trying to accomplish but keep getting sidetracked? What do you really want in your life, but you just can't find the time to make it happen? Is there something that you're trying to quit doing but you keep getting dragged back into, despite your best of intentions?

When you work with Unexpected Athlete, you're making a commitment to yourself. You're saying, "I'm finally doing this". And that commitment is not something I'll take lightly. I'll help you articulate the goal and craft the plan to make the changes you've been longing for. 

This is more than white-knuckling it and forcing yourself to find the will-power to finally stick to something. This is courageously looking at your activities throughout day as well as the thoughts and feelings you experience and carefully designing your routine to support progress toward your goal. I'll help you create lifestyle changes that stick. It will take some trial and error but rather than giving up as maybe you've done in the past, this time you have a partner, a coach, who is with you through it all. 

I know you have the strength to accomplish great things in your life. It's hard to do that alone, to keep the motivation going, to keep the faith in yourself and your abilities, to stay optimistic and future-focused.
